The Ministry of Finance has estimated the cost of indexing pensions in 2022

The total expenses for the indexation of pensions in 2022 will amount to 549.7 billion rubles. This was announced on Wednesday, January 12, at the press service of the RF Ministry of Finance.

“The indexation of insurance pensions in 2022 was provided at the level of 5.9%. The budget of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation provides 377 billion rubles for this. Taking into account the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation (Vladimir Putin – Ed.) To index pensions above inflation, at the level of 8.6%, an additional 172.7 billion rubles will be required in 2022. The total amount of expenses for the indexation of insurance pensions this year will amount to 549.7 billion rubles, ”the ministry said in a statement.

Additional costs for the indexation of pensions in the period from 2022 to 2024 will amount to more than 500 billion rubles, the ministry noted.

Earlier that day, at a meeting with members of the government, Vladimir Putin proposed indexing pensions above the inflation rate – by 8.6%.

Elena Bibikova, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, indicated that the law on the indexation of pensions above the inflation rate, presumably, will be adopted by the end of January this year.

According to the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov, according to the indexation results, the average pension of a non-working pensioner will be about 19 thousand rubles. The department added that the indexation of pensions will affect 30.8 million non-working Russians who receive insurance pensions.

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, in an interview with Izvestia, pointed out that the proposal to index pensions above the inflation rate was expected.
