The head of the press service of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service, Elena Shelekhova, spoke about the most popular tourism destinations for Russians during the New Year holidays.
In an interview with Gazeta.Ru on Friday, January 14, she noted that among the rail and air routes, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi became leaders.
So, Moscow accounted for a share of 29.7% of all bookings. Compared to the previous year, it decreased by 13%. St. Petersburg was chosen by 10.1% of tourists, a decrease in demand for trips there was recorded at a rate of 5%. 5.1% of vacationers decided to go to Sochi, this city turned out to be in demand 10% less than in 2021.
In addition, the top popular destinations included Krasnodar (3.5%) and Mineralnye Vody (3.2%).
Among foreign countries, the leaders were Armenia, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, the site kp.ru writes. 19.8% of Russians went on vacation to Armenia, 16.3% to Turkey, and 8.7% to Kyrgyzstan. The fourth place went to Azerbaijan (7.4%), the fifth – to Uzbekistan (7.2%).
The top ten popular destinations also include Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Moldova and Georgia.
On January 12, the monitoring center “Security 2.0” of the Russian Peace Fund (RPM) told Izvestia that during the New Year holidays, Russians vacationing inside the country most often complained about the low level of service and poor infrastructure.
