Sergei Zverev fined 20 thousand rubles due to election reports

The judge of the world section of the Tverskoy district of Moscow fined showman and stylist Sergei Zverev 20 thousand rubles for late submission of reports on the elections to the State Duma.

“The Electoral Commission of Buryatia decided that I violated: allegedly I submitted the election report at the wrong time, and I submitted the report in advance. There are no violations. Everything is on time, ”the showman told reporters before the trial.

The stylist explained that he considers the accusations unlawful and is ready to present checks and postmarks confirming the timely sending of information to the election commission.

A spokesperson for the Greens party, which the star stylist ran for, said the report had to be filed on October 25, and Zverev mailed it on October 23.

The showman was involved under Article 5.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure to provide or publish a report, information on the receipt and expenditure of funds allocated for the preparation and conduct of elections, a referendum.” The sanction of the article provides for a fine of 20-25 thousand rubles.

In 2021, Zverev was nominated by the Green Party in single-mandate constituency No. 9 in the Republic of Buryatia. During his campaign, the showman spoke more than once, including holding solo pickets, in defense of Lake Baikal and the environment. He lost, finishing in third place with 7.46% of the vote.
