Russian figure skater Mark Kondratyuk wins European Championship in figure skating

Russian figure skater Mark Kondratyuk became the European champion in men’s singles on Friday, January 14. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.

He performed three quadruple jumps in the free program, for which he scored 286.56 points.

Kondratyuk jumped quad salchow, triple axel, triple axel combo, double toe loop with landing error, triple loop, quad toe loop+oiler+triple salchow combo, quad salchow, triple lutz combo+triple toe loop.

The second place belongs to the Italian Daniel Grassl (274.48; 91.75 + 182.73), the third place belongs to the representative of Latvia Denis Vasiliev (272.08; 90.24 + 181.84). Another Russian, Evgeny Semenenko, finished fourth with 260.00 points in the free skate.

The day before, on January 13, Russian figure skaters Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov broke the world record for the sum of points in pair skating at the European Championships in Tallinn. They scored 236.43 points in the short and free programs. The result exceeded the previous achievement, owned by the Chinese Sui Wenjing and Han Cong (234.84 points).

On January 12, Russian Andrey Mozalev updated his personal record by performing a short program at the European Championships in Tallinn. The athlete jumped a cascade – quadruple toe loop + triple toe loop, quadruple salchow and triple axel. For hire, Mozalev received 99.76 points – this is his new personal record. The skater takes the first intermediate place.
